When the publishing folks from Texas State Technical College recently headed off to an exhibition, they needed a big printed poster for their booth. The poster would serve as a promotion to give away a free book. “We had to get people to a website that looked good on mobile phones and WORKED” said publisher Mark Long. “On both counts, Wufoo was great.”
But how do you get someone from a poster to a website? “We get marketing interns from Baylor University and one of them told us about QR codes a couple of weeks ago. After mulling it over, we decided to put a large QR code on the poster. When people use a QR reader on their smartphone to scan the QR code, it takes them to a Wufoo form.”

A QR code code is a graphic that can be scanned by special applications on smartphones which then redirect to a website, display custom text, call a phone number, or send an SMS message. TSTC Publishing also uses [Highrise](http://highrisehq.com/) as their CRM as well as [MailChimp](http://mailchimp.com) for their email marketing. Wufoo has both [Highrise integration](http://www.wufoo.com/partners/highrise/) (automatically create new contacts in Highrise when the form is submitted) and [Mailchimp Integration](http://www.wufoo.com/partners/mailchimp/) (automatically add lead to email list when form is submitted). Mark says these are services “we use all the time,” so having a single form communicate with both of those other applications is huge.
Mark’s department, despite being a part of a four college system, is actually very small with only 5 full time employees. They are always looking for ways to save time and utilize the best new tools. It means a lot to us to have him tell us “it was simple enough to use that we were able to get everything done in time for the conference at the last minute. Wufoo was great and I would highly recommend it to anyone!”
