How to Convert Timestamps to Excel Date Format

Do you have timestamps from your Wufoo report that you want to display in an Excel spreadsheet? Although Wufoo’s report text values can’t be used in Excel as-is, here’s a quick and easy way to convert the timestamps from your Wufoo report to the standard Excel date format.

On your Excel worksheet, just set up a new column with cells that contain the formula:

=VALUE(xxx)

…where xxx is the cell that contains the Wufoo Timestamp.

Don’t be confused by what you see at first. If the cells in the new column are formatted in Excel’s default general format, the result will appear as a five-digit number, probably with several decimal places. But if you reformat them to one of Excel’s date or time formats, their contents will display in that format.

Happy converting!
