Archive Forms

  • alaskaguyalaskaguy October 2007
I would like to be able to archive forms I am not currently using so that they don't show up in my list of active forms. Or, just add a choice to "display only active forms" to the forms list. I don't want to delete old forms because I may use them again next year. We have forms specific to reoccurring events and holidays.

No thoughts? I have a list of 15 forms. I'd like to hide the inactive ones from the list but not delete them.

Right now, the long term solution that we're thinking of is a combination of categories and user management. We may implement some form of categorization for forms. Whether that be just by dates, or custom categories -- I don't know. We haven't fully fleshed it out. Then when user management comes, you will be able to specify which forms can be seen by which people. So, the solution to your scenario would be to add a category of archive to forms, and then don't give yourself permission to see them.

Unfortunately, we have no short term solution planned. Development for user management will begin around the new year, so it is a still a few months off.

Bumpity bump bump... would love to archive forms. The front end is really messy with a million forms :(

Archiving forms would make our lives much easier. We now have 64 forms in our list, most of which are no longer active - but we don't want to delete them because they are re-usable for next year. People have been asking about this since 2007 - over four years is a long time for what would be a very popular upgrade.

Maybe push to another folder when making the form private (not "public").

PLEASE for the love of Pete revamp how forms appear on the list - with every new form we add, it becomes increasingly more difficult to find it in the list and we become resistant to creating new forms because there is no way to organize or name the forms to give them order for admins. You guys have put such care in making the forms great for end-users but making it easier for those that manage multiple forms is way overdue. I see this thread dates back to 2007 when Chris Campbell said:

"Development for user management will begin around the new year, so it is a still a few months off."

Sooo.... what has been improved five years later? I'm currently paying for the highest level and I feel that nothing has changed in this area in a long time.

Ditto. Even worse, as administrator I see everyone's forms. It's way too easy to enter the wrong form by mistake. Folders/organizing them would be so nice! Additionally, I'd like a way to lock/protect a form short of using a password. Just a simple lock that makes me take an extra step to edit ("This form is locked, do you REALLY want to edit".)

    Thanks for all you do!
