Limit FIELD activity?

  • XCoreXCore November 2011
Simply put, I want to have several fields and be able to have those fields removed or greyed out once it has been used 'x' times in the form by previous entries.

Example: Having a party for 40 people. Asking everyone to bring something from our list. We have 6 things on the list and so that we have enough and/or not too much of something we could limit a field to 'x' number of submittals, ie. after 3 people submit the form and have selected "Potato Chips", it's enough already, we don't need everyone bringing potato chips!

    Suggestions?

    Thank you!

Unfortunately we don't have a feature for that. While you can set an overall limit for your form:
    http://wufoo.com/docs/form-builder/form-settings/#limit

We don't have a way for you to limit the number of times a specific field or field option is chosen.

If it's something informal, like your example, you might consider linking to a Report that you build, which shows what everyone else is bringing. You could even embed the report Chart widget on the same page where you're embedding the form, so that people could see how many of each choice has been chosen while they're filling out the form.

I had already done your first report suggestion but I like your second one (embed) even better.

    Thanks!

Awe!!! Rats...Can't embed the widget in the form itself and I've already sent out the direct wufoo link to the form.

FYI: On a different subject, every time I click the "Post Comment" button here, I get an error but if I go back to the forum I see the post went through.

    "Error
String could not be parsed as XML"

Using FF 4.01 (yeah I know, I'm way behind).
