Comparing email addresses

  • HedgehogHedgehog July 2011
I need to the ability within a form to make sure the user has entered the correct email address for themselves. Is there any way of applying a rule or checking that the two (email) fields are identical? My apologies if this has been answered previously. I tried multiple searches to make sure I wasn't duplicating discussions..

Having looked through the forums I see that the facility of checking one field matching another does not exist..... Is this still the case? Does anyone know of a workaround using hidden fields, rules etc that will allow me to verify an email address has been typed correctly by making the user type it out twice? Many thanks

Indeed currently still the case, and I don't believe there's any immediate plans for in form validating logic. In order to perform this validation, your best bet would be to configure the XHTML/CSS GUI version of your form on your own server/site, and include the necessary scripting to validate.

Sorry there's not a more painless solution.

Many thanks for your reply to my discussion post. I am pretty new to all this and not sure how I would even go about scrpting a validation routine. Many thanks all the same for your reply.
