You already know that Wufoo makes collecting information through web forms easy. But did you know that Wufoo has a mature and full-featured RESTful API (now in it’s third and final version)? That means all the data that lives in your Wufoo account is accessible through the API so you can do whatever you want with it.

We're calling out to developers to take a crack at using our API for interesting things.

Only the winning developer gets a real battle axe, but you can also win prizes by helping us promote the contest! Each of the five Tuesdays while the contest is running, we'll choose a random winner who has tweeted with the #WufooAPIContest hashtag. Winners will receive an awesome LEGO Viking and some Wufoo swag.

The Wufoo API is fully documented and will be your best resource during development. Below is a list of all the APIs available to you:

Forms · GET Returns information about all forms. Typically used to list all forms, or dynamically generate a form embed snippet.
Fields · GET Describes the hierarchy of your data.
Entries · GET / POST The workhorse API. Returns actual data from your forms, and can post new entries.
Users · GET Gather details about all users from an account.
Reports · GET Gather details about all reports.
Widgets · GET Gather details about all widgets.
Comments · GET Return comments and comment data attached to entries.
Web Hooks · PUT / DELETE Return information about, or attach new webhooks to forms.
Login · POST Retrieve an API key from a users login and password (domain restricted, apply here)

Rules & Judging

This contest is open to United States residents only.

Your entry should be a fully functioning use of the Wufoo API with a demo that we can see and use. If you don’t wish to make it public or it contains sensitive data, feel free to password protect the demo and include that information in your submission. Please also include information in your submission about what it does, how it works, and how we (and others) are intended to use it.

The code from all submitted entries remains entirely under the ownership of the submitter. The exception is wrapper libraries which we require to be open source and permission given to us to put up on our GitHub repository.

The winners will be chosen by the Wufoo team after carefully considering the awesomeness level of each. Like a benevolent King.
